MyStreetzMag — The Sound of the Streets
Last updated: May 2026
Welcome to MyStreetzMag (the "Site"), operated from Lagos, Nigeria. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Who We Are
MyStreetzMag is an editorial publication covering Afrobeats, Naija street culture, music, interviews, and related media. The Site is operated by the MyStreetzMag editorial team. All references to "we", "us", and "our" mean MyStreetzMag.
To reach us: editor@mystreetzmag.com
2. Use of the Site
You may use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You agree not to:
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in a way that breaches any applicable law or regulation.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, our servers, or any associated systems.
- Scrape, copy, redistribute, or republish editorial content in bulk without our prior written permission.
- Use the Site to harass, defame, or harm others.
- Upload viruses, malware, or any code intended to cause damage.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time and for any reason, with or without notice.
3. User-Submitted Content
When you submit any content to MyStreetzMag — including but not limited to artist demos, songs, photos, "Your Story" submissions, comments, newsletter signups, and feedback — the following applies:
a. You confirm you own (or have permission to share) everything you submit. Don't upload songs you didn't make, or photos you don't have rights to.
b. You grant MyStreetzMag a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable licence to use, host, display, edit, adapt, publish, and distribute your submission across the Site, our newsletter, our social media, and any partner platforms we publish to (including but not limited to WordPress, Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube). This licence exists so we can actually run a magazine.
c. We can edit submissions for clarity, length, voice, or to comply with the law. AI may be used to assist in this editing.
d. We may decline or remove any submission at our discretion, without explanation.
e. You retain copyright in your original work. The licence above doesn't transfer ownership.
4. AI-Generated and AI-Assisted Content
Much of the Site is produced with the help of artificial intelligence:
- Article rewrites from RSS feeds and editor inputs are drafted by Claude AI (Anthropic) and then reviewed by our editors before publication.
- Artist submissions are scored and profiled by an AI A&R reviewer; a human editor makes the final call.
- The Ask MyStreetz omnisearch uses Claude AI to summarise on-site content.
- Newsletter digests are AI-composed and human-approved.
We mark AI-drafted articles in the editor dashboard but they may not always be visibly labelled to readers. AI can make mistakes — if you spot one, email editor@mystreetzmag.com and we'll correct it.
5. The Shop
Some items are available for purchase via the integrated Stripe Checkout flow. By placing an order:
- You agree the price displayed at checkout is the final price (in USD, currency-converted by Stripe).
- All sales are final unless the item arrives damaged or doesn't ship within 30 days — in which case we'll refund or replace.
- Stripe processes your payment; we never see or store your card details.
- Shipping costs and delivery times are shown at checkout. International delivery may incur duties.
- Digital goods (where applicable) are non-refundable once delivered.
To request a refund or report an issue: editor@mystreetzmag.com.
6. Newsletter & Email
By subscribing to the MyStreetzMag newsletter you consent to receive editorial emails from us, sent via Resend. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter, or by emailing us. We never sell your email address.
7. Intellectual Property
All editorial content, logos, branding, designs, and code on the Site are the property of MyStreetzMag or our licensors. You may not reproduce, modify, or redistribute any of it without permission, except for short quotations with attribution under standard fair-use principles.
8. Third-Party Links and Embeds
The Site may link to or embed third-party content (Spotify, YouTube, articles from other publications, etc). We are not responsible for the content, availability, or practices of those third parties. Use them at your own risk.
9. Disclaimers
The Site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranties — express or implied — about the Site's accuracy, fitness for any purpose, security, or uninterrupted operation.
Music recommendations, news commentary, and opinions on the Site are editorial — not financial, legal, or career advice.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MyStreetzMag and its editors, contractors, and contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
If our liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50, whichever is lower.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold MyStreetzMag harmless from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your breach of these Terms, your submissions, or your misuse of the Site.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. The "Last updated" date above will change. Continuing to use the Site after an update means you accept the new Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Lagos.
14. Severability
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
